Shuttle Atlantis is now in orbit!

It looked like a near-perfect launch and it was well worth waiting for. Good job, NASA.

That's pretty cool. It'd be neat to live so close to KSC.

I remember that there was one launch that happened while my wife and I were visiting Disney World. We were in line for Big Thunder when we happened to see the bright point of the engines rising in the distance. About a half dozen of us stopped, leaning on the queue railings, as we watched the shuttle go up (and as most people filed past us). It was so far away it was just a bright speck on top of a blurred white contrail. But it was still great to see!

Thanks! A while back, I put together some Sly Cooper LJ icons. Feel free to use them, if you like.

I really hope that things go super well and the fraidy cats at NASA, or where ever, get off their thumbs , ask the astronauts, how they feel about a mission to fix Hubble, and we can rescue one of the truly great things America has done in space. We've been space nuts ever since the first moon walk, when Witch of November was just a little girl and kept running out into a beautiful desert night with a big moon and yelling "Hi Neal".
