Dragon Splashes Down Successfully! [May. 31st, 2012|09:44 am]

Dragon safely landed on target and on time!

This flight has been an amazing series of accomplishments for SpaceX. They've previously launched ONE Dragon to orbit, basically empty.

Now they launched Dragon on the Falcon-9 booster, orbited, maneuvered, berthed with the ISS, had no interface/interior concerns, unberthed, and re-entered. All without any major issues. (One launch delay due to a faulty valve that was automatically detected by software; one delay on approach due to a reflection confusing a ranging sensor.)

Bravo!

I have to say, it is pretty impressive work. I'm sure their whole team couldn't be happier.

It really is amazing. A lot of stuff had to work right on the first try for this to go the way it did.
