Ridiculously Hard B-Movie Trivia [May. 8th, 2003|05:54 pm]

[Current Mood |weirdweird]

The following is based on an idea that occured to me reading some of chipuni's trivia entries. It's a series of "missing link" questions about obscure (for good reason) movies.

Directions: Between each pair of adjacent movie titles is a blank. There is one "famous" person in common between the two titles. Their role is given as a hint in parentheses. Guessing is fully encouraged; IMDB is not. :) Good luck!

Missing Links:

"Barbarella"
1._____________ (actor)
"Skidoo"
2._____________ (actor)
"The Human Duplicators"
3._____________ (actor)
"The Mole People"
4._____________ (actor)
"Attack of the Puppet People"
5._____________ (director)
"The Magic Sword"
6._____________ (actor)
"Hillbillys in a Haunted House" (sic)
7._____________ (actor)
"The Unearthly"
8._____________ (actor)
"Plan 9 from Outer Space"
9._____________ (actor)
"Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein"
10.____________ (actor)
"The Alligator People"
11.____________ (actress)
"Gunslinger"
12.____________ (director)
"Burial of the Rats"
13.____________ (actress)
"The Fog"
14.____________ (director)
"Dark Star"

Remember, each blank has a hint on their position and relates to two titles.

And the answers are...

"Barbarella"
1. John Phillip Law (Remember him as Pygar?)
"Skidoo"
2. Richard Kiel (Better known as "Jaws" in the Bond series)
"The Human Duplicators"
3. Hugh Beaumont (Beaver's dad.)
"The Mole People"
4. John Agar (Master of droning dialogue.)
"Attack of the Puppet People"
5. Bert I. Gordon (Did he make any good movies?)
"The Magic Sword"
6. Basil Rathbone (The radio voice of Sherlock Holmes.)
"Hillbillys in a Haunted House" (sic)
7. John Carradine (He was also in our second MFT episode, "Animal People".)
"The Unearthly"
8. Tor Johnson (Famous swedish wrestler and sometimes actor.)
"Plan 9 from Outer Space"
9. Bela Lugosi (Sadly, "Plan 9" was Bela's last movie.. Famous for dracula roles.)
"Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein"
10. Lon Chaney Jr. (The brand-X Lugosi.. Famous for wolfman roles.)
"The Alligator People"
11. Beverly Garland (Word is she had fun doing lots of these cheap B films.)
"Gunslinger"
12. Roger Corman (The most prolific, and cheap, director of all time.)
"Burial of the Rats"
13. Adrienne Barbeau (Also in John Carpenter's "Escape from New York")
"The Fog"
14. John Carpenter (Famous for the "Halloween" series of movies.)
"Dark Star"

Told ya they this would be a hard quiz! To be quite honest, without IMDB I would've only been able to name 12. How'd you do?

Wow. Never has a title so aptly described the accompanying LJ entry. I knew...um...#14, mainly because I taped Dark Star long ago. ;)

Ridiculously hard... Yeah, I have no idea how many other B-movie fanatics will see it, but it was fun to write. :)

Dark Star's a fun movie. Odd laid-back Red Dwarf on quaaludes mood to it.
