Geek Decor [Jul. 21st, 2006|11:51 am]

Poll #775042 Geek Decor

Which decore option earns the most geek points?

But what would you actually want in YOUR home (ignoring prices)?

Use the force (to press "play")!
"You look very dashing today, sir."
Quick! To the Bat Big-Screen!
Boldly decorating where no man has decorated before.
Eh, none of these are "me".

I'm sure there are lots of other great geek decor options, even leaving aside furry-themed interiors. Let me know if you've seen other great-or-not geek remodels.

P.S. Special thanks to my wife, who's using her summer time at home to repaint our media room. Yay! This poll is dedicated to you (but not meant as guidelines).

i helped paint a mural of the card art for 3 Magic cards in the basement of my dorm one year. that's about as far as i've gone for geeky room mods.

I love the Star Wars theatre. Perhaps too much. But arguably because of George Lucas' ego, Star Trek earns more geel points. Perhaps bonus points if you have an Old-skool Cap'n Kirk themed room cleverly disguised as the holodeck guest room.

The magic mirror is just creepy and the bat cave really wasn't a cave but more of an underground lair with 20' tall computers.

So, what's your home theatre like?

Since I answered "none of them are me," I thought I'd post the picture of my "home theater" (so to speak):

I'd rather have this than any of the options. :>

Neither. Mine would have a more modern design.

savant_da_rat wants to paint the guest room walls to match his Totoro-tootling-an-ocarina banner.

It's okay with me. In his copious spare time, of course. After he finishes laying the paver patio, grading a big hunk o' yard for a storage shed, installing the storage shed, and building a landscape-log retaining wall. *sigh* It's not easy bein' grown.

The Bat Cave would get tiring after awhile, and unfortunately I like the original Star Trek design more than Second Gen., but if you can't have the cleaning system then its not worth it. Then again, I keep wondering why we continue to use the desktop as a model for our computer environments anyway.
