It was, in short, superb. I'd never been there before and I must say that the Vancouver area is just breathtaking. The country is some of the most beautiful I've seen, with soaring rocky hillsides covered by forests. The city of Vancouver itself was also good -- interesting architecture, great food, and nice people.
Speaking of nice people, thanks to White Fox, Kodi, et al (sorry, I don't remember the other names!) for a fun dinner and evening chat while we were up there. Also got a chance to see my old friend Yappy Fox, who was coincidentally up there at the same time. And thanks to my wife's friend Heather (whose LJ name I don't know) for a walking tour of the downtown district.
We stayed at a little B&B in North Vancouver. It's a nice house from the 1920's (transitioning out of Victorian towards craftsman/prairie architecture). The hosts put on a fabulous breakfast spread, too.
I'll try to post more pictures and details soon, once I get the files organized.
