Dieting: For the past three weeks, I've been on the South Beach Diet, a modified low-carb low-sugar diet. It's worked quite well. In the first two weeks, the strict (i.e. boring) phase, I lost 10 lbs. This past week, after relaxing the dietary restrictions a bit, I've lost another 3 lbs. Success! And without any starvation!
New Ingredients: So, the natural consequence of the above is that I've been doing less experimental cooking. Now that we're in a phase where the restrictions are eased, I'll hopefully have enough interesting foodstuffs to work with that I can start doing experimental recipes again.
Employment: Still out of work. Fortunately, though, kit_ping's union settled on a contract so her job is secure. Anyone out there looking for a hardware simulation specialist for chip design verification work? Online resume avialable.
Projects: I'm unemployed yet I have no free time... Typical. How can people ever complain of having "nothing to do"? So I'm focusing on some personal projects, one in the area of programming (graphics coding, a personal interest), one in the area of fursuiting (a much-procrastinated costume), and one in the area of writing (more on that later, perhaps). Where does the time go?
Headaches: Had a lot of problems with migraines recently. I'm not entirely sure why, but it may be associated with the dietary changes. Ugh.
MST3K: For all MSTies, Rhino is releasing really nice DVD Box sets. Excellent quality, good episodes, and funky cool boxes. Well done, Rhino! Everyone, go order some of these!
Archery: We officially joined the archery club we visited for a demo. This looks to be a fun household (three of us) activity.
