Baby Photo [May. 20th, 2007|09:54 pm]
By popular demand (of at least two people), here's a baby photo:

Timothy is steadily improving. He's still on a nasal tube that provides him with a steady flow of warm, moist air to help his lungs. But he doesn't need any supplemental oxygen at this point. Slow, steady progress!

The photo is where I got to hold him for about 3/4 of an hour. It takes a bit of work to get him out of the bassinet since he's still got wires and tubes hooked up to him. But it was really great to be able to get that close to him, finally. (And I didn't drop him on his head which was, of course, my fear.)

unfortunately he's not actually home, that picture was taken in the NICU. We're holding our breath hoping he'll get 'sprung' soon. Grandmaa Gretchen

You're a natural! I can just see you picking him up by the scruff of his neck in your teeth when you bring him to your burrow.

On another note, I need to put you in contact with Sage for when you and your family get back up to Seattle. He'll be able to clue you in on where to go to get the good foods/cheeses/etc. Needless to say, Pike Place Market is a big one! *hugs you all*

If it helps, my boss's son was a month preemie, and beat Timothy by only a few days. He was only three and change pounds at birth, and was on the respirator as well until his lungs could work on their own. They just brought him home yesterday, so I'd bet that master Timothy will be coming home soon as well. I'm so happy for you and Kit!

How long until he can get a bit of UV? He's looking a bit orange. Maybe he's a ginger tom?

yellow baby

you noticed huh?? Actually all people on scene report that he's out from under the bili lights and the skin color in the picture was a function of the camera,or something.

Beautiful, simply beautiful. :)

And, don't worry too much if you drop him - babies bounce. ;) No, seriously, though, the truth of the matter is that babies are a lot tougher than you might think - and Timothy's no exception - look at all the progress he's made so far, and all the stuff he's been through, just in his first few days!
