|A Week Together and A Nice Dinner Out
||[Jun. 22nd, 2007|09:53 pm]
Kit and Timothy have been up here for a week now. He's doing well and seems to be fully recovered from his earlier lung trouble. He spends an amazing amount of time eating (which therefore also involves an amazing amount of Kit's time).|
Sleep has been dicey, as expected. And it may continue this way for, oh, the better part of a year. :P On Thursday I got a really bad migraine which I think was a response to the interrupted sleep of the previous two nights. My body doesn't take well to schedule shifts. But I'm much better today as Kit -- bless her! -- took care of Timothy in the other room and granted me a full night of peaceful sleep.
Tonight we went out to a nice dinner, a belated celebration of being back together. There's a lovely little place in downtown Kirkland called Lynn's Bistro. It's French cuisine with a nouvelle touch. I had slices of a beautiful pork tenderloin bathed in demiglace with a touch of passion fruit; the tangy edge cut through the sauce and complemented the pork. And then there was Kit's dessert crepe... Mmmmm....
I sometimes forget how much I enjoy a nice meal. Plus what a soft spot I have for proper French food. (And Chinese...) It's wonderful to be reminded now and then.
It's good to hear you all are doing well. I hoped you were just too busy to post. (which turned out to be the case) In ten years, you will have forgotten about the sleep lost, and just remember what a cute baby he was!
Ah the joys of parenting! Glad you and Kit seem to be handling the new kid well. Just wait until he comes home from school complaining:
"Daaaaaad...the kids at school keep calling me Timmmmmmmmmmmay!"
Or the endless other pet-names folks will give him. I've been through a slew of them in the past few months...first "Timbo," now "T-bone." :P
You picked a great name, though!
Glad things are going well!!
*hugs to you all*
Good to hear everything is good :)
Yeah when friends of mine have a new bundle of joy and I don't see them for the better part of year, usually the first thing I say when I do encounter them again is something along the lines of "So, are you getting any sleep?" That's when they shoot me the look. :-)
Glad everything's going well.
Glad everyone's doing well, even with the lack of sleep!
I find myself to be quite obsessed, really, with my quest for good French food. There is very little of it around really. I will definitely keep Lynn's bistro in mind, should I ever be headed to Kirkland, which is a bit north for me to go for a meal, but one never knows when I might be in the area. (=
We're always willing to drive a bit for food; where might you be? Want to get together for dinner? :)
Ooh, dinner. (= I am always lamenting my lack of friends who love excellent food (and does, in truth, lead to my spending perhaps excessive amounts of time with my family, who also love good food). So I would much love to hook up with you guys for dinner some time. It would be fun. I am in Tacoma, BTW.
First off, what a blessing it must be for you all to be together again! :) I am so very happy for you all that Timothy is doing better, and you and Kit are back together, and... :)
And second off, I'm a total dork! My favorite local artist, who also happens to be a dear friend, was playing in Seattle today and I totally didn't even think to tell you. ;) I suppose Timothy's a bit young yet, anyway, but her drummer has a new baby (also a boy, just a few months old), and he comes to shows and loves 'em! ;) She's going up there a few times this summer, I may just harass you until you go at least once. Then I promise to shut up. 0:)
But truly, I am so very happy for you all to be healthy and together! :)
