We met up with my sisters-in-law (witchofnovember and agentmiss). It used to be that the site was halfway in between where we lived. Now that we're in Seattle, not so much.
We didn't get a chance to attend last year. (Think about the timing...) This year it was noticeably smaller than 2006, almost as if gas prices had tripled since then. There was still a fair amount going on, though, and we all had a good time. Timothy got to wear a tunic and tabard that I hastily whipped out the week before, charm many strangers, remain relatively quiet during the night, and experience crawling in grass and mud for the first time.
At some later point, ideally when I've got photos to accompany them, I'll post some more details. I took some classes on wool, learned two ways to make felt, and even made a felt rat using just a needle. Got a chance to do some cooking over the campfire on Sunday. Got thwarted by rain when attempting to cook over the campfire on Saturday; attempting to prepare a whole chicken using only a propane camping stove is quite a challenge. And perhaps sometime I'll go into the Making of Wool Rodents, Frying a Chicken in Twelve Uneasy Steps, the Dilemma of the Two Air Mattresses, or the Curious Case of the Vanishing Cyclist.
(I don't know why I've gone all Holmes-ian at the end, there. Perhaps I'm moving forward through the centuries back to the present.)
Regardless, hope everyone else had a good weekend!
