So I'm looking at some preview screenshot for the upcoming Quake IV. The detail and rendering is amazing! The texture artists and modelers have really done a good job.

So now I'm wondering... How long until someone makes a game that's deliberately (unnecessarily) low-poly and flat-lighted to create a "retro" genre feel?

How long until a deliberately "retro" low-poly look is used in a game?

4+ years: people love lotsa polys!
2-3 years: it'll happen soon enough
1 year: someone's probably already working on it
now: haven't you seen (comment-with-the-game-title)?
