Mars Rovers

The Mars rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, continue their successful work on the red planet. In fact, today, Spirit passed 1000 sols*, which is over ten times longer than the rovers were expected and designed to survive. (Granted, they have developed some problems, but they certainly aren't disabled yet.)

Opportunity, meanwhile, was recently sighted by the Mars Reconnaisance Orbiter, providing a top-down view of the rover's area. (Here's a closeup)

Cheers to the NASA rover teams! To celebrate their success, there's also a great Onion article. :)
