The Truth About Raccoons [Feb. 22nd, 2010|09:21 am]
Wisdom from young Master Timothy:

Mom: "Do you know where butterflies come from?"
Tim: "Caterpillars. Caterpillars turn into butterflies."
Mom: "That's right!"
Tim: "Butterflies turn into raccoons."
Mom: [pauses for thought] "Oh, you mean cocoons. Caterpillars make cocoons."
Tim: [slowly and patiently] "No. Butterflies turn into raccoons!"

So there you have it. Another mystery of nature solved!

So then what do the raccoons turn into? Do they become horses or something? Is this a mass-species evolutionary thing? I'm intrigued.

...is this:
a) an inability to distinguish 'r's from 'c's, or mild dyslexia?
b) too much watching the parents play Sly Cooper?
c) an early expressed self-furry preference, utilizing Native American imagery?
d) a budding Mad Scientist/Spark?
e) all of the above?

Re: ...so...

I suspect it's more like what I used to do as a kid, where I'd mishear something a teacher or some other authority figure said, and become convinced it was absolutely The Law Of The Universe.

Re: ...so...

Hold on, now... I don't think any part of the Sly Cooper games shows him changing from a butterfly!
