This is a brilliant gem from Slashdot today:

WWII Photos Plus Modern Photos

Someone has photoshopped together historical photos from WWII with modern photos. The impressive thing is that he's got the photos lined up so well. There's not subtle photoshopping -- the seam is almost deliberately obvious -- just clever photography and inspiration.

I always wondered how they go about rebuilding those structures when so many of them are so far gone. Where does one begin?

That's an interesting way to do it.

I've always liked side by side comparisons. This is a little more artistic take.

The ghostliness of the images juxaposed against the modern really makes it all the more effective. Amazing.
