SpaceX Successfully Reaches Orbit and Returns to Earth
SpaceX launched a Dragon 9 today. It did a two-stage ascent to enter orbit. The capsule (a mock for the test flight) separated and returned safely to Earth, splashing down in the Pacific in the vein of the Apollo flights. The mission was nearly flawless and an amazing demonstration run.
Fursuits for Science!
How to best handle baby pandas so that they don't get used to humans? Fursuits, of course! The laudable goal is keeping the creatures as natural as possible so that they can be returned to the wild. No word on whether they use anything to cover human scent.
I knew they were launching that day, but I was in class when it went up.
I remember the first one was a lot louder than I thought it would be. I think there are only one or two more launches in this existing configuration. They are supposed to have their newer engine on it soon. Hopefully they can keep their momentum.
