Expecting a New Bundle of Joy! [Feb. 6th, 2011|09:09 am]
The rewards of children are many... either that or we didn't learn the first time.

Kit and I are expecting a new child this spring. And we now can announce that it will be a girl! Yes, Timothy is going to get a little sister. The official due date is May 26 but, based on our experience, this means any time around May-ish.

We are going through the name selection process which is only slightly simpler than designing an aircraft carrier. (If you've ever been around expectant parents, you know this to be true.) Despite the challenges, after an intense session of nominations and vetoes we now actually have a candidate name that we've tentatively settled on.

But that doesn't lend itself to pointless, amusing polls! So why don't you help us select which name is most amusingly veto-worthy?

What name should we definitely NOT pick?

Francesca Bo Besca III
Timothy II

If I remember correctly, we'll be celebrating my niece Nicole's 2nd birthday on 26 May!

Woot! Girls are awesome. Not that I have any reason to think boys aren't also awesome. I hear boys' diaper-change peeing incidents are more traumatic, though.

Just say 'NO' to Suzie. Nothing wrong with Susan, but you just can't go around naming your spawn with diminuative versions of real names!

Now you just need to enumerate through every other possible name and eliminate all but one in the next few months. That's a lot of polls, but we're here to help ;)

ALL those names are to be avoided. I suggest naming her something that can be shorted to Ash or Kit you know, after her awesome internet aunt. *g*

In all seriousness, yay, congratulations!

Curse you! A poll that I can't in good conscience vote "Weasel" on - you sir are a diabolical mastermind.

Congrats on the incoming midget :)

NIMH references, not with standing I'd be afraid that 'Bris' might be thought of version of Bristol (that;s not spelled right) but I don't think any of us would like her to be thought as being named fro that Palin gal!

Re: name

NIMH *and* Palin references notwithstanding, I hear "bris" and I think "circumcision."

Congratulations. :D Again.

And I veto-vote for:

Eileen. Because the instant the song by Dexy's Midnight Runners gets anywhere near her... you will get death looks.
