Today Google is honoring Bob Ross' 70th birthday.
I have long enjoyed Bob Ross, both for getting me to actually try painting and also for his incessantly soothing and positive tone. It's almost as good as chicken soup if you're laid up with a cold. And, using his technique, I have done a number of fun paintings over the years, one of which is proudly hanging in my hall.
Recently, I've been watching old episodes of the show while settling Lottie down to sleep. (After bedtime routine, books, and songs.) We snuggle in the dark in our bed and watch him paint happy little trees, a nice row of bushes ("ooh, that one's a sparkler"), and sticks and twigs ("a place for the little birds to perch").

Thanks, Bob, for the good shows. And all you out there, have a happy little evening. :)
