The thing that I find most interesting about this meme, is that the 'playlists' posted on LJ are so varied and eclectic. Compare this to radio, whose typical playlist is getting 'narrower and narrower' every year.

I realize that a bunch of furs on LJ does not a real demographic make, but it's just amazing to me that radio programmers seem to be so afraid of playing anything even slightly outside of their tightly programmed normal stuff. And I look here, and here are lots of people who listen to significant amounts of indy rock, game soundtracks, classical, lounge/martini, comedy, etc... Somewhere, probably on the internet, there has to be some radio programmer who can do this.

Re: Interesting

I absolutely agree... Most commercial radio is really valueless these days.

You might find Live 365 interesting.

If I can find a decent channel there..... Like pretty much everything else, most of the channels seems to be lame. I tend to flip around to several different net stations at work, depending on mood and time of day.

7. None of the Above - Barney's On Fire

Wow, one of the guys on the "Bob the Builder LIVE" tour with me was the Barney who caught fire! Technically, the fan shorted out and produced a whole lot of smoke, without actually setting anything aflame. Still, it's neat. Since that happened in 1997, I guess it didn't actually inspire this song, but the Smokin' Barney does have a question in the Millennium Edition of Trivial Pursuit. Woo!
