My draft has reached about 51,500 words at this point. And that includes a minimum of "filler" content to pad word count though it does include some pieces I pre-emptively edited (moved to the end of the draft but kept for word count because I did write them) -- both those categories only total 1,100 words, though. And I started with some already written but skipped the first two days of November so.... Yeah, what the heck, let's call it good. I'm happy with the progress!
I estimate the first draft will be about 90K-100K words, eventually edited down to 80K-90K length. May be a little slim but not bad.
This is a complete rewrite of an idea I wrote about 5 years ago and I think it's working much better this time around. I feel it's a stronger storyline, the characters are more engaging, and the werewolves come across better. So I'll keep at this one and get the first draft wrapped up. A more relaxed pace (trade a bit of writing time for fursuiting time) but hopefully this manuscript will be done by end of January.
