An Iron Artist Retrospective
(with help from kinkyturtle, unofficial Chronicler)

Iron Artist I - "The First Steps"
In the year 2000, a reclusive art patron envisioned a new forum, an institution in which furry artists could compete. Donning an impressive title and wardrobe, Chairman Seurat founded the Iron Artist competition at FC2001. Drawing immediate attention in the artistic community, it was a wild and rough inaugural year...

Theme: Sidewalk Chalk
Iron Artists: Jim Groat**, T.K. Dye (kevinjdog), Marci McAdam**
Challengers: Hedgy, Vince Suzukawa** (cody_frost), K.T. (kinkyturtle)

**The winners!
(Iron Artists and Challengers are listed in the order they were paired.)

Iron Artist II - "Like a Breaking Wave"
After an interesting start, the Chairman (or Chaircat) tries to raise the bar for the artists. He unveils an ingredient that's entirely nontraditional... Though, much to his chagrin, it turned out one of the artists had experience with the Secret Medium!

Theme: Cake Frosting
Iron Artists: Jim Groat, Marci McAdam**, Vince Suzukawa** (cody_frost)
Challengers: Amara 'Ocelot' Telgemeier** (electricgecko), Baron Engel, T.K. Dye (kevinjdog) [Grudge Match!]

**The winners!

Iron Artist III - "Beauty is Skin Deep"
Seeking new canvases for artistic expression, the Chairman calls upon his Iron Artists to explore new territory with familiar tools. Six audience members are selected to be the lucky recipients of some personal Sharpie application...

Theme: Sharpie Tatoos
Iron Artists: Ocelot** (electricgecko), Vince Suzukawa** (cody_frost), John Nunnemacher [Substitute for Marci]**
Challengers: Dusty Rhodes (dustykat), David Simpson (bluerain), Valden Valmont

**The winners!
(TWO major firsts this year: We have a tie leading to an Overtime Match and we had a clean sweep win by the Iron Artists.)

Iron Artist IV - "Stretch Your Talents"
The Chairman tries something bold and selects an ambiguous Medium. Some of the artists used it in a 3-D manner while some attempted to compose 2-D collages. It was certainly different, though not necessarily better, as it left the boundaries of the art theme under-defined.

Theme: Balloons
Iron Artists: Ocelot** (electricgecko), Vince Suzukawa (cody_frost), John Nunnemacher [Substitute for Marci]**
Challengers: Wolfgang, The Gneech** (the_gneech), Immortal Pain (immortalpain)

**The winners! (Sadly, no visual record yet exists...)

Iron Artist V - Looking Ahead
What will the Chairman come up with next? This year, he's hinted that he'll be returning to a more traditional type of medium. Does that mean 2-D? Is it something the artists are more likely to be familiar with? Or is it just a ruse...

Theme: Chainsaw Sculpture
Iron Artists: Ocelot (electricgecko), The Gneech (the_gneech), Marci McAdam
Challengers: Will be randomly drawn on stage during the show

See you all at FC!

Oops, did I post that? Shoot.

You didn't know about the chainsaws? Um, yeah, as future Chair you should really know about the legal waivers and special liability clauses we came up with...

Next year we figure to make it an all-nude event, wherein the artists will chase around naked audience members with staple guns and knives, attempting to render the audience members pierced and/or dismembered in an artistic way. Sort of a frontal assualt Karen Finley meets Jeffrey Dahmer type performance art medium. So yeah, you might want to start pondering the liability issues.

Congrats on the chair-ship, btw! ^_^
