News or Not?, do you know which of these are real headlines? Click for the sources. In this round of |
1. Britain elects Jedi to parliament
2. SCA Knights Capture Red Square
3. Scientists Reanimate Dead Dogs
Bonus: Today's weird spam subject line (honest!): "Fuck someone tonight...scotland" Huh?
Um, ok. I will say the Dog one is real. :)
i couldn't help but notice that the "scientists reanimate dead dogs" story appeared on Fark on the same day as a story detailing how one provincial government somewhere in the heartland had decreed it legal for a dog to inherit an estate.
coincidence, I ask you?
I had read the SCA one before so I knew that it was a lark based on an Event in Russia.
But both of the others seem to be real news papers, I think.....
AFAIK, the two non-SCA stories are true.
AFAIK? I don't know that one.
I'd heard the dog one. Cool about the Jedi.
I note, in my obsessive way, that Mists is called a Kingdom in the Onion article. :)
Back to sewing I go...

Yay, I guessed right!
Jedi in parliament is nothing after their announcement of the first Satanist in the Royal Navy. And the reanimation thing isn't really good satire material.
But I know enough SCA folks to be pretty certain they wouldn't bother with Russia. ;)
I'd already heard about the Jedi in Parliment, so that one didn't surprise me. Glad he's there. ^_^
