Okay, I have to say that this is my new ultimate geek gift. This rocks! Too bad it's incredibly expensive (for good reason) and not yet available in the U.S.

In the same vein, here's a Flash animation of The Elements by Tom Lehrer which is well done. (Link thanks to wabbitcalif!) It's the ending bit that really shows the extra effort, too. :)

What do they do for Pd? How about Po? That's a nasty I wouldn't want to see in somebody's hands. A little Pu for the barbecue, maybe? They'd better have some really fast shipping for element 118 :)

Wow!

Very neat gift idea and Flash animation. I remember seeing one episode of Cosmos where Carl Sagan is talking about the different elements in an old classroom at Cambridge, I think. They had a set of test tubes, each containing one of the naturally-occurring elements. I remember thinking that would be a neat thing to have. My previous roommate once had to memorize the Elements song for Tomfoolery, so I heard it a lot. It's probably my favorite Tom Lehrer tune. :)

Okay, that's officially one of the coolest things I've ever seen. ThinkGeek actually advertised a suspiciously similar item on April 1st, calling it The Executive Atom Collection. The gag there was that while you got every last element, you only got one atom of each, packaged in the nifty "display" case, and it was your own fault if you managed to misplace any of them once you broke the seal on the display.
